The National Caravan Council (NCC) is the industry trade body for leisure vehicles, park homes and holiday parks.  It acts on behalf of the industry in consultation with government, shares technical and legislative advances with its members and offers advice and support for consumers.

The NCC’s Approved Workshops Scheme

One of the most important schemes it operates to support consumers is the Approved Workshop Scheme.  The scheme is a joint initiative between the NCC, The Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravanning Club and has been in operation since the 1st January 1978.

The Approved Workshop Scheme is seen as the benchmark for motorhome and touring caravan servicing in the UK.  It is the only industry-recognised standard for tourer and motorhome servicing and repair and is supported by all leading UK tourer and motorhome manufacturers.  This is why it was important to the TMC Leisure team that we gain NCC accreditation.

Our service team has a long history of delivering excellent service, with generation after generation returning to our dedicated team.  We look after their vehicles and help them to keep them on the road cost-effectively and running well.

Gaining NCC Accreditation

We feel that the Approved Workshop Scheme is an important indicator to our motorhome customers that when you return to TMC Leisure for motorhome maintenance and servicing you can be assured that “the right things are done, by the right people and to a high standard”.

In order to be accepted onto the NCC scheme, all workshops must pass an annual inspection by a team of independent assessors and must comply with the scheme’s rigorous standards.

While the scheme covers both caravans and motorhomes, as a motorhome dealership we will be covering only motorhome service and repair.

Choosing an Approved Workshop to service your motorhome is better, not only for your peace of mind, but also to ensure the validity of any warranties on your vehicle.  For this reason, it is recommended that you get your servicing completed by the dealership that sold you your motorhome or by an Approved Workshop Scheme member, like TMC Leisure.

Servicing Your Motorhome

As well as vehicle maintenance and MOT services, we deliver full service and repair for your base vehicle and living space, known as “habitation” servicing.  Like an MOT, a habitation service should be completed annually.

During our standard habitation service, our team will check the water, gas, electrical and heating systems, and the fridge, as well as checking for any damp or leaks in the basic structure.
